Editors Note: No pictures this week :-(
Hola familia!!!!
The weeks are really flying by fast and I have a lot to type this week so here it goes. I love you all so much and I miss each and every one of you.
Thanks everyone for the gifts!!! I got Dave and Caities and the Frosts gift!! They're awesome and perfect. My companions were so stoked to get stuff too! haha.
This week I slipped on a banana peel in the street.... Legitimately... I had no idea that that actually existed outside of cartoons and Mario Kart. But it does.
Also, I guess that in the middle of the night the other night I woke up my companion and asked him if he "had any huevos" and pointed underneath him. Huevos are eggs in Spanish.. I have no recollection of any of this and I just put my head back down and went to sleep.
This week I got to have an interview (first one) with my mission president. He is such an amazing man!!! He told me things that I needed to hear. He pointed me to the scripture where it says that we will be given line upon line, precept upon precept. This is what I'm feeling with this all! He is so awesome though. He explained that normally they have an interview with all the new missionaries and a training session too right when the missionaries get there, but this time they weren't able to because there were too many of us. This is probably why I felt like I just got thrown into the middle of it!! Because I did! haha
Also, I've started to keep count of two things here in Mexico. The first is how many white people I see that aren't missionaries. The second is how many dead dogs I see. Right now dead dogs is winning 6 to 3. haha
This week I also did splits with our district leader. This was super nerve wracking because I still don't have my area memorized or anything and I was in charge of leading him around. Yikes! But the Lord helped me and we got through it and even taught a guy who I think is going to progress well!
Okay, so this week I have had this on my mind. We need to rely on the Spirit if we want to do anything. The Spirit is so important in this work. I have realized that I really just need to act on faith and we can be guided by the Spirit. At times we think, Oh is this me thinking this or a prompting from the Spirit? President Hinckley tells us that If we are doing what we are supposed to and are worthy of the Spirit, all things that entice to do good are of the Spirit. Remember this.
Well, I'm doing really well here in Mexico. This week I felt more comfortable than I have so far here. I know that I am here for a reason. I love you all and hope you all are doing well. I pray for you all everyday.
Love,
Elder Morgan
