Week 50 - There really isn't a subject

Family!!!

Love you all so much!!!

This week...... Was hard. Lots of walking around and little results seen in our area,

However, the biggest success of this week was in the work of the zone. Last week we challenged the zone to find more new people this week. We had been pretty low in finding. So we really got them pumped up. 2 weeks ago we found 31 people in the whole zone. Really low! This week.... 70! Much better. It just goes to show that when you help someone see the importance of doing something, and then invite them to do it.... they do it!!!! Miracles.

This week we also baptized Cesar!!! He's the kid of an investigator that we have. She can't get baptized right now because she's not legally married, but soon!!!! He's so cool. He decided to be baptized all by himself. He's a stud! This family literally is a family that's been prepared by The Lord. After his baptism, his mom told him, "Cesar, you're the first to be baptized, but soon we all will be members"!!!! They're so awesome. They all have the Gospel Library on their phones! haha.

Finally made it near the ocean
Anyways, that's about it this week. Crazy story of the week. Me and this one Elder were walking along when all of the sudden this guy runs up next to us and begins to explain that he had just forcefully escaped from a rehab center. It was pretty crazy. People were chasing after him, looking for him. In those sorts of situations, I always just make sure to listen really closely to the Spirit to see if I'm in danger. I felt fine. He ended up just walking with us for a little bit and then hoped on a bus. The things you see as a missionary!

Love you all so much. I know that the church is true.

Everybody needs to go online and find a talk given in 1988 by Hyrum W. Smith entitled "Why 1820" or audio (Also called "Restoration of the Church")

There will be no doubt in your mind that the apostasy happened after reading (hearing) this talk!!

Love you!!!!!!!

Week 49 - This Week!

Family!!!!

Elder Sandberg and Elder Morgan

Love you all so much!!!!!!

This week.... was sort of crazy.

Tuesday we went and ate some tacos that were super good, but I was up all night throwing up. First time throwing up in like 7 years! I went to the doctor and it was all good.

Wednesday, we had a zone conference with the President and we trained on how to study more effectively (While I was still super sick, but a priesthood blessing helped me get through it with no problems). Then I went to the doctor. It costs 3 dollars to go get a check up here and the medicine in all was 10 dollars. I love the medical system here.

Thursday, my companion ended up breaking something in the church and we took an hour fixing it. Don't worry, it wasn't anything important.

Friday, we gave another training to the zone in our zone meeting. We challenged all the zone this week to bump up the work!!

Saturday, normal day. While waiting for a taxi, we saw this like street brawl.

We were waiting for a taxi this week when we saw this one guy get of of his car and just start beating the crud out of this other car, breaking the windows and punching the dude inside. Then all these teenage kids got in on the fight smashing the other guys car. Then one of the guys got out with one of those extendable police batons and started chasing after these guys. Then his dog that was in the car got loose and he started chasing after the dog. It was crazy. That's Mexico sometimes.

Sunday, we had a Skype meeting with the president.

It was pretty busy this week with a lot of things.

This week our two investigators that are getting baptized next week both told us that they didn't want to get baptized. We invited them to pray and then we went back the next day. We also had been praying really really hard, and they decided to do it again. They're young and they were just a little nervous, that's all. They're excited again!

Well, I know that God loves us, My companion and I were thinking the other day about something. Sometimes the Elders think that if we are obedient that God will give us more baptisms. That's not true. He doesn't just give out baptisms like Santa at Christmas. Being obedient helps us to feel the Spirit more and be instruments in His hands. This is His work too, he's trying to save His children as well, but he can't force them into being baptized. That is Satan's plan.

I hope all have a great week!!!

Love you!!!!

Week 48 - Transfizzle my Sectorizzle

Hey there Family!!!

Elders Morgan and Mejia

Love you all so so so so so so much!!!!!!!!

This week was a good one. We went to Tijuana this week. Both Elder Mejia and I got sick on the bus ride there, but we bought pills for on the way back and we felt way better! Motion sickness for the win!

What else did we do this week???

That's a good question. It went by so fast!!! This week we had training on how to "Leave behind our nets". When the Apostles of Christ were called to follow Him, the scriptures say that they immediately left their nets and followed Him. Sometimes we as missionaries focus on things that don't matter. We have our little "nets" here in the mission. Thinking about what we're going to do after the mission, or our friends at home. Even good things can sometimes distract us. This is when the Good, Better, and Best principle comes into play. We as missionaries can do many good things, but we need to always be searching for the best thing to do at the best time! This comes by revelation. Our Heavenly Father promises us that He will bless us to know what we need to do and when. This week I have focused a lot on letting some of the nets I still have go and just working as hard and diligently as I can. I know that The Lord blesses us for obedience.

Big news of the week! Transfers! I am staying and Elder Mejia already left! My new companion is Elder Sandberg. He was my zone leader in Tijuana like 2 months ago. He's from Utah and has like 3 more months in the mission. He's a great missionary and I'm super stoked to work with him. We're going to do The Lord's work here.

Thanks so much for all of you out there that pray for us missionaries. We appreciate it, and those that we teach appreciate it as well.

Love you!!!

Elder Morgan

Week 47 - Conference was so good

Family, sweet family!!!

Love you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! ! !!

This week was pretty good. I don't even really remember much of what happened, but it went well.

The coolest part was conference. We had a good number of investigators that showed up to take part in this special experience. They all left very happy!!

One of the coolest parts of this week was seeing the progress in one of our investigators. I've talked about her before. Her husband is a member in the US. She's really doing well! This week, a week from when we first taught her, she told us she got her response from God. Her words were these..... "Last night, I was praying to God and He told me that the Book of Mormon is true. Now I just need to keep reading and putting the principles in practice......" Woo hoo!!!! She and her 4 kids all went to conference on Sunday. She went to both sessions and in between we gave them a tour of the building and a lesson. She really enjoyed it all! Like halfway through the conference I noticed that she was rummaging around her purse for something. She then pulled out a receipt from a store here and began writing on the back notes from the conference. When she had filled up the small sheet, I saw that she was looking for more paper, but couldn't find any. I then ripped a piece of paper off the back of the pew that was designating the reservation of seats for investigators and gave her it. She thanked me and began to write a bunch of notes on the back. I think it was a really special experience for her. Especially Elder Bednar's talk!!!

One thing that I learned from conference that was really great was that we can't just pick and choose the principles that we want to follow. Our Heavenly Father has already given us this plan and Christ has shown us how to follow it. All we need to do is take the path that will lead us to the presence of our Father in Heaven. There are no shortcuts. We need to focus on every single part in order to keep going forward in the straight and narrow.

I know that God loves us. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and that he speaks directly with Him.

Love you all!!! Have a great week!

Elder Morgan

At every session of conference, Camilo and his family came down to visit us during conference as a surprse!!  Elder Mejia was one of the missionaries that started teaching Camilo and I got to finish with him! It was so good to see them!
