Week 79 - Week number who knows.

Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Les quiero muchísimo!

Anyways, this week has been an interesting one. It's been sort of rough with appointments because a lot of them have been falling through lately. We set up like 8 appointments during the day and like 6 of them fall through. Oh well, that's the story.

We're working with some great people right now that really want to learn more. There's this family that we're teaching and they told us this last week, "We are positive that we want to be members of this church." They're just waiting for their baptismal date to come so they can make that happen!

We also have had a lot of success with the center of employment that the church has here. It's actually a center of autosuficiencia. I don't know how you say that in English. Self-Sufficiency???? Who knows. Anyways, It's been great being able to take investigators there to look for opportunities.

I also got to do exchanges this week with my old companion Elder Smalley! He's here in the Zone. It was so fun! So great remembering all the things that happened there. Some great news too. Juan Perez is back from the USA and has a current temple recommend. He and his wife are doing great! Camilo is 2nd councilor in the Elders Quorum Presidency and Frida is going strong in the church and working in the Nursery or Primary. She goes to the temple and all of the YSA activities.

Also, got some great news from Ensenada that Dayanna has officially decided to go on a mission next year!!!!!!  She had the chance to go to the Hermosillo Temple like 2 weeks ago and loved it!!

Things are going really good. Just looking forward to what this week brings!

Love you all!!!

Week 78 - TJ is my way

Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you all, you all, all, you all, love you all.

So, this week has been pretty hectic. Lots of getting lost, looking for streets, and other curious encounters of the wicked kind.

We basically are just starting to know the place a little bit here.

Elder Canche and I are working really well together and seeing some success. The church here is really good. The ward is a good ward. They had their ward conference this week and a new Bishop was called. Bishop Gamboa is a great guy. We had previously met him in the week and he had helped us out a bunch! The ward here is cool because there are so many people that speak English. I go up to them speaking Spanish and all of a sudden they respond in English. It's super cool.

Let's see.... so the most interesting story of the week goes as follows:

It was our second day here. We had to go find the lady that was going to feed us. So, we start walking downtown following our map when all of a sudden we start realizing that maybe we're not in the place we should be. We start looking around and all we see are bars, sketchy hotels, and other inappropriate things. So we just decided to get out of there as quick as we could. We walked straight down the street without looking neither right nor left. However, it was obvious that some sketchy stuff was going down due to the fact that at every street corner there were 2 or 3 scantily clad ladies. It was 2 in the afternoon!!!!!!!! Anyways, we ended up taking a turn where the house was supposed to be and we thought, "There is no way that a member of the church lives here." It was a sketchy little alleyway right off the main strip of evil. Turns out, IT IS the house of a member. I even asked the sister, "Sister, why do you live here?" She just responded and said it's because it's the house where her husband grew up and even though they have other houses here in TJ, he can't leave the house. Anyways, now we know what places to avoid here.

So, that's about it!

Love you all!!!

Week 77 - Transfers

Family!!!!!

Love you guys so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woo! This week was great. We had some really great success in finding people that just really want the Gospel and want to do the things well!

The best part of the week by far was seeing the family!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you so much.

It was so good to talk to the family and see that everything is going really well back home.

This week also  brought news of transfers! I got transferred out of Mexicali. Said goodbye this morning to Elder Lindley and we celebrated for one last time on Saturday by buying some Chinese food made by a Mexican! We also made some shirts for the whole zone.

Welp, I have been transferred and I am now back in Tijuana in a ward called Independencia. It's one of the oldest chapels here in TJ. My new companion is Elder Canche from Capeche, Mexico. He has about as much time as me in the mission but this is his first time being a Zone Leader. We're also opening up the sector here. That means that we'll be lost. Opening up sectors as a Zone Leader is pretty unheard of. I didn't actually think you could, but everything is possible. So, The Lord is really relying on me right now, and I'm not going to let Him down!

Anyways, I love you all and hope that you guys have the greatest week and that you can reach out a loving hand to someone in need.

Week 76 - It's starting to heat up!

Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love you all more than air conditioning. (That's a lot of love)

Anyways, this week has been good. Just busy as normal. One day this week we had 12 appointments. Towards the end of the day, the appointments were like this, 6:30, 6:45, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30. It's been crazy. Also, Elder Lindley has been riding around with only 1 pedal for like 2 weeks now. He's a champ.

We got some really good things coming up for May. We'll see if I'm still here to see everything happen. 2 members this last week had dreams that I was going to leave. (Mexican dreams are way different. Remember Lehi's dream??)

We saw a dog catch a bird this week.

We're finding some really cool people.

In our 15 minutes of spare time that we sometimes have everyday, we've been watching some DVDs of the new bible videos. They've really been boosting my testimony. I love some of the things that are shown there that you really don't think about when you're just reading the New Testament.

Anyways, we're doing well and getting ready to talk on Mothers Day with Mommy!

Love you all! Keep up the good work!
