Week 62 - The Weeks feel like Days

Family!!!
Love you all!!!

Wow. The weeks are seriously flying by. I feel like every day I write to you guys.
Right now we're teaching such a cool family. The Lord has really prepared them! The son is even talking about serving a mission! Wow!!! They're so excited to be baptized and go to church and everything! People like this make the hard parts soooooo worth it. The worth of souls is GREAT!!!!!!
We've been working hard here, but I find it difficult to contact people while riding a bike. Haha. I'll get the hang of it soon. The other hard thing about this place is that everything is so far away.

Going to church... hour and a half bus ride.
Going to other church buildings... hour and a half bus ride.
Basically, it's just far away. The funny thing is that in a car, it's like 10 minutes, but the bus takes us all the way around the whole town before getting to our destination.
Oh well, things are going really well. I love the ward here. All the people are really nice and willing to help us out.

We also had interviews this week with the President. He told me some great stuff that I needed to hear. I love President Garcia so much! He seriously is the greatest.
I love you all very very much. I hope that you can all have a great week and that you can keep going strong in this life test!

I think Elder Morgan was excited to get a Costco card!!  :-)

Love,
Elder Morgan

Week 61 - Mexicali... I'm so close to the US

Hey there family!!

Love you! Love you!
This week was good.

We had a bunch of conferences with the Zone and the President and meetings and everything, but it's going really well.

The Zone is doing great. We have great missionaries and the District Leaders are great as well. Everyone is really working their hardest.
Elder Solano has 4 weeks left in his mission! What??? Time flies so fast!
Really loving the ward here. The members are really nice and willing to give us rides and stuff. Still don't give us referrals, though haha.
Really not much else has been going on. The bike situation has gotten way better. My buns have also gotten more accustomed to being on a bike seat, so that's good too!
I know that this church is true. I know that we have a Prophet and Apostles that are called of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that he saw God the Father and His Son in a grove of trees.
I hope that we can all reflect on what we are doing in this moment to share this gospel with all!
I love you all,
Elder Morgan

Week 60 - Mexicali Week One

Family!!!!

Love you all sooooooooo sooooo sooooooooo soooooooooo sooooooo much!!!

This week was crazy.

So, on Monday, I get here. I find out both the bikes have a flat tire so we have to walk to go get them filled up at the gas station and every time that we left a house, they were flat again! So, then we were riding home and I was singing along and all of the sudden I just hear this blowing noise and I realize that the other tire went flat!! I look at the tire and found a huge nail in it! Like 3 inches long!! What!! So then we had to walk the bikes back! haha

Then Tuesday we went to the District meeting. One of the district leaders is Elder Winch. He is from Oregon ( His dad is from Spokane) and he has about the same time as me in the mission. He goes to BYU too. He´s super awesome! He gave a great meeting. Then the sister that was supposed to give us food couldn't so we ordered pizza and then we had to leave for TJ for our monthly leadership council.

Wednesday we were in the council almost all day. It went really well.

Thursday we get up and get going. We had to walk the bikes over to a bike shop where we bought 3 new tubes and 2 new tires. I also bought a little flashing light and a bike pump so we don't always have to go to the gas station. As we were leaving the bike shop, the pedal on Elder Solanos bike just fell off!! What??? The bike shop didn't have the right tools for it so we had to ride along, him with one pedal and me pushing him along. By that time, it was time for lunch, but the sister that was going to give us food had forgotten. Luckily she had some chicken soup that she could heat up for us! Then we went to the other bike shop to get the pedal fixed. It got fixed and we set off! I was so stoked and ready to get working. We went to find a referral that someone had given us, but the address was wrong. Then I noticed that the brand new tire that I had bought in the morning WAS FLAT!!!! What!!!!!!! Back to the bike shop for the final time that day!!!

Elder Solano

Then on Friday I was on exchanges with Elder Winch. We did 4 baptismal interviews that day! Woo! It went really well.

Saturday was like our only real day to work and it went well!

Sunday, we had church. A member of the 70 came and invited my companion and I to bear our testimonies. It was cool. He said, I would like to bear my testimony by doing the following, Elder Solano, Elder Morgan, come on up here and bear your testimonies of the Savior. It was really cool. The ward seems really great.

Anyways, apart from all that happened this week, we're working hard and being The Lord's Representatives!!!

I love you all. I know that this church is true and that it has been restored by the power of God.

Have a great week!!!

Week 59 - A New Year!

Family!!!
Love you guys a ton. Like, a ton.
Anyways, these weeks have been good. I don't remember when the last time I talked to you all was so let me just fill you in.
For Christmas, we ate dinner at a members home and the next day we had the whole day off, so we went to the main strip where all the cruise ships are. There are a ton of stores there and everyone speaks English and Spanish due to the cruises. We ran into like 40 members of the church from the cruise. Some from Utah, Idaho, etc. They were all like, "Hey the Elders!" haha.
Then for New Years we went to the Bufadora!! If you don't know what it is, YouTube it. We went, but the bummer was that there wasn't enough wind, so it never shot up in the air. Just a little mist. Oh well.
Basically, that's it. Oh yeah!! I also got transferred! It was sad, but good too. I'm here in Mexicali!!!! With Elder Solano who is from Uraguay! He has 6 weeks left in his mission. I'm also on a bike here!!! What the...? I totally forgot how to ride a bike!!!
Anyways, love you all so much!!!
