Week 58 - Christmas Time is Here

Hey family!!

Love you!!!!!!!!

Merry CHRISTMAS!!!

Elder Morgan and Guzman

This week was good. We've been working hard and have some great things that are going on right now. Working with a lot of people and helping them come unto their Savior.

This week was full of Christmas preparations. On Tuesday we had our Christmas conference with the President here in Ensenada. It was great. Afterwards we had a dinner and did some presentations from each Zone. We preformed a small skit of the first Christmas. It went well! Then we did a tie exchange!

Then we were invited to do our skit for all the leaders in the Stake! It was really good.

Elder Morgan as an Angel.  :-)

Then on Thursday we had the Ward Christmas dinner! It also went well. We had a few investigators there and made some great contacts of non member friends that showed up.

It was all good. Then this week started! It was so good to talk to the family!! Man, was it good to see you all! After the video call, we went to the home of some members to eat a Christmas dinner! More turkey!! Woo Hoo!!!

Skyping with the Fam!

Then today we had the whole day so we went down to where the cruise ships are and ran into like 4 different groups of members that had come on the cruise. It was weird to see so many white people!

Check out the name of the boat!

Cruise Ship

Investigator?

Guess he wasn't interested.  :-)

It was a great time!!

I know that Our Savior was born over 2000 years ago and that he came into this world to pay the price for our sins. I know that God loves us so much that he gives us every opportunity to repent and live with Him. That we may remember our Lord and Savior this Christmas is my prayer.

Love you all so much!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Week 57 - Saying Goodbye

Hey family!!!

Love you a bunch a bunch and a few oats too.

This week.....

I don't even remember.

We went house hunting this week because on Monday night some of the sisters here called us all frantic because someone was trying to break into their house. So we went over there at 10:30 to go get them and have them stay in some other sisters house. Then we had to go find another house. I felt like I was on the show House Hunters International.

We've been working hard.

Then we had Stake Conference. Two members of the 70 came because they called a new Stake President. It was a cool meeting. I got to meet the Temple President of the San Diego Temple.

I also had to say goodbye to Elder Sandberg. He goes home tomorrow. I'll miss that guy. He's been a great companion.

Basically, that's all that happened. Just lots of working. This week we taught a meth addict. That pretty much happens like every month, but it's always sad to see.

Anyways, I know that this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and a martyr.

This is Christ's Church. I am His representative.

Love you!

Week 56 - Feeling lots better

Family!!!!!!

Love you bunches and bunches and bunches!!!!

This week has been all about working hard!!!
We've been working hard with this new initiative of He is the Gift. We found 11 new investigators today. Still low, but we're working on getting better.

The trick to missionary work is talking with everyone!!! The Lord said that He would make us fishers of men. How do you do the best fishing?? With a fishing pole, or a net?? Clearly with a net because you can get more fish. That's basically what we're trying to do here. Work with as many people as we can to find the people that The Lord is preparing.

This week we had a baptism!! The baptism of 81 year old Tomasa!!! It was hard baptizing her. She kind of fell down in the font and came up coughing. but then she turned around to me and said, "Wow, I feel really good." It was sweet. Then she bore her testimony about how she felt so much better and that a pain in her stomach that she's had for a long time went away as she came up from the water. She also said, "I'm glad I took in some of the water because I wanted to be cleaned on the inside and outside!!!" What an awesome lady.

Also went to TJ today to get my visa renewed. Everything went all right, so I think they'll let me stay! ;)

I know that Heavenly Father loves us and for that reason gave us the opportunity to come to earth and learn. More than 2000 years ago, He sent us His Only Begotten Son to die for us. Somebody brought up a good point. Christ always had the power to lay down and take up His life. He could have laid it down while He was suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, but instead He suffered through to the end to complete what He was sent to do. I as well will not come home until I have completed my mission, as insignificant as it may be in comparison to His. I know that this is Christ's church.

Love you all!!!

Have a great week!

Week 55 - Trio again

Family!!!!

Love you all!!!!

This week has been pretty good. There are some really good things going on here.

We are now in a trio. Elder Guzman was the assistant to the president and now is my new companion. We're in a trio because Elder Sandberg goes home in 2 weeks. Trios are kinda hard, but we're hanging in there.

This week...Let's see.

Well, we just basically worked hard and found some new people. It's really cool to see the promises of The Lord being fulfilled. This week like 4 people contacted u. It's pretty cool.

Also, everybody in the whole world needs to get in on a new program the church is doing for the month of December. It's called His is the Gift, or in Spanish, El es la Dádiva.

Go to Christmas.mormon.org and watch the video! It's so powerful. I seriously feel the Spirit so strong when I watch it!!!! It's a huge program the church is doing. They've bought a whole ton of billboards in Time Square to share it and they also are going to buy the whole main homepage of Youtube on December 7th. It's estimated to reach about 220 million people. It's so cool!!!!

They also gave us special cards that we will be distributing to everyone! They gave us like 12 thousand pass along cards here in Ensenada. We estimated that there are about 13,000,000 cards that will be passed along in all the world. That's crazy!!!! All you guys have to do is go to that website and share it on Facebook and twitter and all the other socials networks!!! Share it with friends, family, neighbors. I love it!!! I'm excited.

Anyways, this week I also got sick!

I think this is Elder Morgan being Derek and playing dead

And now all better

2:30 in the morning  :-(

It was weird, all of the sudden one night I just got super sick and threw up like 4 times and had to use the restroom like 7 times all within a matter of like 2 hours. I called the doctors and they had me go to the hospital at 3 in the morning. I got there and they pumped me with some electrolytes and gave me some antibiotics. It made me feel way better and now I'm on the antibiotics. All is well now!!!

Love you all. I know that the greatest gift we have ever received is the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son. I know that this church is the church of Jesus Christ.

Have a great week!!!!

Love,
Elder Morgan

Week 54 - Oh the joy of being an instrument in the hands of The Lord.

Hey there family!!!!

Love you all more than Garfield loves Lasagna.

This weeeeek.

This week was pretty good. It went super quick because of everything we did.

First, on Tuesday we had a great zone conference with President Garcia. I realized something really simple. The worst thing that people can do here when you trying and share the Gospel is say no! Just no! One word. That's it! Man, why has it taken me so long to figure this out?? Maybe this will help you guys out too so that you can share the gospel more. Think about it. The worst case scenario... they say no.... best case scenario.... their family is happier, they receive exaltation and forever happiness. I think the pros out weigh the cons here....

Then.... We had our interviews with the President. It went really well. He talk to Elder Sandberg and me after everyone else. There were a lot of changes in the transfers.

Then we had a regular week until Friday!!! Friday, Dayanna got baptized!!!! She´s the sister of Cesar that got baptized like a month ago. It was the most spiritual baptism I've ever seen. She didn't want many people so it was only us, her family, the bishop and his wife. The bishop and his wife gave great talks!!!! The Spirit was seriously so strong. Then Elder Sandberg and I sang a hymn for everyone. Dayanna´s mom started bawling!!!! It was such a good baptism!!!!

Then we got invited the next day to go to Pampas!!!! The great Brazilian restaurant again. That place never gets old!!!!

Well, I know that this church is true. I challenge each of you to work in this great work of salvation. God needs our help. We are His tools. He will help us. I testify of the power of prayer. And I do so in the beloved name of Our Lord and Savior, The Great Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Love you all! Have a great week!
