Week 71 - March Madness

Hey there Fam!!!!

L.o.v.e. y.o.u. g.u.y.s.

This week was great. We had 3 baptisms this week. You remember Alexis and Elissa?? Well Elissa's parents and Alexis's mom got baptized!!! That completes the family!!!

It was such a great experience. They all bore their testimonies!!!! So strong was the Spirit!!!!! I love this family so much.

The zone here is doing well. We broke the record for this zone. The record was 19 and this month we had 25!!!! Wow. Things are just going so well. We're working hard and the work is being accelerated like never before! I love to see how The Lord is working here in Mexico! He's on His way here.

This week it's been super hot here. It's funny because everyone just tells me. "No, this is nothing, wait a few months." Ahhh!!!!! A little kid this week told me, "If you see a hobo in the street sleeping, he's probably not actually sleeping..." Haha. That's how hot it is here. But we drink lots of water and electrolytes!!

The ward was super impressed with our work this week. We baptized 3 and the other missionaries in the ward baptized 3 as well. The WHOLE SACRAMENT MEETING was filled with the confirmations and then they gave their testimonies!!! So cool. The Ward Council congratulated us and everyone is so excited because they're realizing that we can do great things here.

I love this work and can't wait to see how April goes! I doubt there are April showers here though.

Love you all!!!

Watch the video "That he lives" (Because He Lives) or something like that. I don't know the direct translation. It's so good!!!

Love you

Elder Morgan

Remember Laura???

She's from Ensenada and we were working hard to get her baptized, but for not being married, she couldn't. well guess what!!!!!

She's baptized!!!!!!

Week 70 - No time

Family I love you!!!!!!!

Time is short this week. Lots of stuff to do, but this last week was great.

Karina got confirmed.

We had a ton of new investigators and a lot that went to church.

I think we just had to get through the test of 2 weeks ago to be able to see the miracles!!!!

The zone is going great. We confirmed 11 people this week as a zone!!! Woo!!! Looking to break the record here in Mexicali :)

I love you all!!!!

Have a great week!

Week 69 - It's getting hot here and people are wanting to get into that font!

Family!!!

Love you all!!!!!

Wow!  This week has been getting pretty hot.  I feel like a Popsicle everyday.

This week has been pretty full of activities though.

On Tuesday we had our conference with the President.  It went really great.  Elder Lindley and I trained on how to find new people to teach. Then after, we had the baptism of Karina!  She's the girlfriend of a returned missionary that we've been working with.  They're so getting married and then sealed!!!!  It was great.  Then, we had a meeting with the Stake President and Mission President about the monthly report.

Wednesday was pretty normal.  Some people rejected us and some others accepted.  Haha.  Same thing Thursday.

Friday we had another meeting with the zone, just Elder Lindley and I.  We had a great conference.  Our zone is looking to break some records this month :)  We've been super blessed with great missionaries!  March Madness!!!!!!

Saturday we had our Stake Conference with a member of the 70 named Elder Villalobos.  He's awesome.  Super blunt and direct, but really great!  One of the things that stuck with me was how there are no half blessings for half obedience.  It's either we're obedient or we're not. No middle ground.

Sunday we also had Stake Conference and then a meeting at night via Skype to Tijuana.

Pretty crazy week, but I know that The Lord is blessing us.  We've seen so much rejection lately, but that's okay.  Sometimes it's not our fault. We're here just to give the people the opportunity to listen.  If they accept or not is their own deal. They'll have to live with their decisions.  Just breaks my heart sometimes.

I know that this Church is true.  It was founded by our Savior Jesus Christ while he walked this earth and was restored in modern days by a prophet of God.  Read the letter to the Ephesians and you'll have no doubt about the true church of Christ.

Love you all!  Do something good this week!!

Week 68 - Hey there! Throwing up is the best mission experience.

Family!!!!
Love you all!!

This week was pretty good. We got to go to Tijuana on Monday and ate some Pampas. Then we had our leadership meeting on Tuesday. It was really good. Our mission is starting to come out of a deep hole it was in. It's great.
This week was sort of hard though too because a lot of people just don't want anything. Sometimes it bugs me because they won't even give themselves the time to ask God if this is the truth. They just believe in the stupid Mormon rumors. BTW, they're way more common here in Mexico.
Elder Lindley and I are just living it up. Having fun everyday and doing lots of work.
We also found this 94 year old new investigator. He lives alone, but is a hard worker. Always is cleaning his house. He's pretty sharp too. He says that God has given him healing powers. He goes to the homes of people and heals them. Years later they end up healed of their infirmities.... haha. He's a great guy.

Worst part of this week was definitely this morning when I got food poisoning. Yesterday we ate some steak tacos that were really good, but this morning I woke up at 2am with the D word (diarrhea
). Then I went back to bed and woke up minutes later and the next thing I know, I have my mouth in the toilet and I'm vomiting. Fun stuff! After about 6 more hours of that and some pills, I feel a lot better. Still got chills and aches, but it's manageable due to the blessing my companion gave me.
Oh yeah, the best part of it all was the fact that we had absolutely NO toilet paper in the house. That was quite the adventure to say the least.
So, other than the food that constantly wants to kill me, I'm doing really well. Loving the work and amazed at how the time is just flying by!
This week I hope that we can all reflect on our personal progress in this life. How far away are we from where Our Heavenly Father wants us to be? What can we do today to change?
Love you all!!!

Week 67 - Going ham sandwiches here in Mexicali

Family!!!!!!!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE You guys.

So, this week was so good.

We're working so hard out here. The zone is doing great. We found 112 new investigators this week in the zone. That's an average of 10 new in each companionship. Great improvement.

This week seriously we've just been focusing so much time and effort on finding and teaching and baptizing. The greatest part of this week was that Alexis, Elissa, Elissa's parents, and Alexis's mom all went to church for the first time together!!!! It was soooo sweet. Hopefully we can get the rest of them prepared to be baptized.

The most spiritual moment of this week was in the lesson with Elissa's parents. They understood so well the doctrine. I felt the spirit so strong and I started tearing up a bit bearing my testimony of the Book of Mormon and the Restoration. SOOOO GREAT!

Elder Lindley and I are basically a great team. Loving it out here.

Love you guys so much!!!!!

Have a great week!!!!
