Week 46 - No Subject. Because I can't think of any.

Family!

Hello there family.

So, not much time.

I love you more than anything!!!!!!!!!!! Even more than meat.

Okay, so this week was pretty good.

The highlights:

This Friday our Mission President and his wife were coming through our area and he invited my companion and I to dinner with the Stake President as well. We went to a place called Pampas which is like a Brazilian steak buffet place. They have 30 different cuts of meat and it is super good! We had a really great time with the Mission President. he's so awesome and we laughed really hard.

Then, two days ago, we went to Carl's Jr. for lunch because someone instead of feeding us, just gave us money. Then, at night, two sisters in the zone called us and told us that their bishop hadn't shown up to the baptism and that they needed someone in 15 minutes to come and baptize. Haha. We ran to the house, grabbed my clothes, took a taxi, and I baptized two people. It was a great experience. Then, their ward mission leader offered to take us out to eat. Well, Carl's Jr. round two!!! Haha.

Then came Sunday, we had very few investigators in church, but one lady that came is super super awesome! She told us that she loved church and she's already planning on going to Mutual this week. She accepted a baptismal date. She really has been prepared by God. She said that she's always wanted to talk to missionaries, but that she didn't have the courage to talk to us until we contacted her one day. Her husband is a member and has been inactive for like 20 years. He is living in the US right now, but we hope that when he comes back he can come back to a wife that's baptized! So that they can get sealed later on!!!! Whoo!!!

It's super cool here in Mexico and on the mission. I know that God puts the people right in our paths! We just need to ask ourselves, "Why did God lead us here?"

I have such a strong testimony that Christ is our Savior.

Oh, I also gave a talk on Sunday off the cuff.  It went well.

Anyways, love you all so much. Do something this week that makes someone else smile!!!

Love,
Elder Morgan

Week 45 - Ensenada limonada

Family!!!!

Fireworks taken outside their house

Love you all so much!

This week. First, we got to have zone meeting this week. We trained the missionaries on a good way to teach using inspired questions and the gift of discernment. It was super cool.

This week we also had the Ward Mexican Fiesta because this last week was Mexican Independence! It was so cool. The party was huge! Lots of non members there too. We got to contact some really cool families and one of the families went to church this week!

This week we also saw a miracle. This woman that had been going to church for 3 months told us that she wants to get baptized now! She reminds me a lot of Aunt June, haha.

Anyways, not much else to report one. Working hard here. The time is flying! I already have 3 weeks here in Ensenada! Wow!!

Love you all!

Keep up the good work!

Week 44 - This week

Wow! This week......

We have this exact water ski at home!!  :-)

Love you all sooooo muuuuuccccccchhhhhhhhhchchchchchchchchchc. Cha chacha!

This week was super cool.

We started out on Tuesday by going out for Peruvian food, just me and my companion because the sister that was going to give us food that day was sick so she just gave us money. It was super good!!!! We ate cow heart. It was really good.

Then all day Thursday we were in a meeting with Elder Valenzuela. He's in the first quorum of the seventy and in the Mexico area presidency. It was super cool to talk with him. He gave training on how to help the Lord quicken the work and how to work with the members. We were in charge of getting every thing ready for him. We set up all the chairs and tables, put out water bottles, set up the mics and everything. We wanted everything to be perfect, and it turned out great!! He also asked 4 missionaries to stay afterwards to be interviewed. I got chosen! I got 15 minutes to be one on one with a member of the 70. It was pretty cool. He taught me some nice things. Then later that night we had a meeting with all the priesthood leaders in the stake.

Then on Saturday we loaded up onto a bus at 7 in the morning to head to TJ for a leadership council with all the Zone Leaders. Also with Elder Valenzuela. It was super cool too. He taught me a bunch about how to be a better leader in this mission. Then afterwards we got to go to Carl's Jr. and I bought some sweet Ecco shoes. There's this guy here that sells them super cheap. They're like manufacture rejects or something but they're like perfectly brand new. They cost 13 dollars. Haha!!! A lot cheaper than the 150 dollars you pay over there in the states!!! Then the coolest part happened!

We went to the mission offices to get some materials before loading up the bus and heading back home. On our way to the offices, this security guard stopped us and began to talk to us. He told us that he had been praying the other day because he had no food to eat. He had been praying to the Lord that he would follow the Lord where ever He told him to go if he would only give him some food. Right in this moment, his phone rang and an Elder began to talk to him. He had never spoken with the Elders before. He told us, "Hey, I am Catholic, but Jesus Christ told me that your church is the true church. He told me He wants me to go to this church. Where can I find the church?"  I was like struck by the Spirit so hard. We took down his information and passed along the referral. At the end he told us "Hey, you guys aren't wrong. This is the true church. Christ himself told me so." We just smiled and told him, "We know. He has told us too."

It was a super cool experience. I know that The Lord is working along side of us.

I love you all! May you all have a great week!

Week 43 - Ensenada nada nada

Hey there Family!

Love yas all a tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon.

This week was great. We're working hard here and sweating a bunch!

Elder Mejia is a great missionary and we're doing our best to serve The Lord out here.

This ward that I'm in is huge for here! It was like 220 active members! Wow! That's big. It's a good ward too. There are 6 missionaries in the ward. Last month as a ward they baptized 13! Now however, we're trying to find more investigators because they were so focused on the ones that were going to be baptized, now our baptism pool has kind of dried up, but this week we found 11 more investigators and we're working. Elder Mejia and I teach really well. We just kind of flow. It's great being with someone who wants to work and knows what he's doing.

This week I got to do exchanges with an Elder and we went to his zone by the ocean. I could see all the cruise ships and stuff. I'll have to take a picture some day.

Elder Mejia and I really get along. We're laughing so much and just messing around.

Elder Mejia with the $6 boots he bought there.

This week our one big duty is getting ready for a member of the 70, Elder Valenzuela, to come down to visit us. We in charge of getting it all ready.

I really love the mission.

I want to bear my testimony that this church is the only true church upon the face of this planet that has the power of the Holy Priesthood. The only power and authority by which man can preform an ordinance of God. If you doubt this, please talk to some missionaries. They can help you!

I love you all so much.

Have a great week!
Espero que tengan una buena semana!

Elder Morgan

Week 42 - And another one gone, and another one gone...

Well,

I love you all sooooo muuuuuuuucccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhh h        h h h.

Things are good here. This week was really good. The coolest things were the following
Elder Morgan and Smalley
We did this sweet activity where we went to the Swap Meet and had a little stand and contacted people for like 2 and a half hours. We handed out over 100 pamphlets and took down like 15 people´s addresses. It was a success and lots of fun!

Then, one of our converts threw us a Carne Asada which is basically like a BBQ party thing. It was cool.
Then we had the zone conference!!! It was so good, and I got my package finally!!! Thanks so much for the stuff and especially for the photos! I also got a great package from Auntie Annie that had a bunch of great goodies in it! Thanks Auntie Annie! The funniest part of the zone conference was that I had been feeling for like 2 days before that they were going to call on me to recite Doctrine and Covenants 4. I've done it in the past and it didn't go very well because I didn't have it memorized and I still don't!! haha. But, I put those feelings off and went into the conference. Sure enough, I was called to do it and I just lip synced my way through it as everyone recited it along with me. Every one was laughing at me. It made me humble though! Whoo! I´m going to study it!
We also had stake conference this week. It was really good. They called a new Stake president here so a few 70´s came and spoke with us. It was really good.
Then the most exciting part. We knew transfers were coming up so Elder Smalley started getting ready to leave because he has more time in this ward than I do. So he was like saying goodbye to everyone and everything. Then on Saturday night they called us. Big shocker! Elder Smalley stayed and was called as District Leader and is training a new elder!!! Whoo!!!! But wait.... what about Elder Morgan.....  I got transferred to Ensenada as a Zone Leader! Ensenada!!! That's super cool. I´m so excited. My companion is Elder Mejia. He's from Peru. Actually from the same part that Mark Lahtinen served in! He's super great and I'm so excited to work with him! He only has 4 months left in his mission!
Elder Morgan and Mejia

Elder Mejia

Anyways, so I got to the bus station at 7:30 today and took the 2 hour bus ride down to Ensenada. It was the nicest charter bus I've ever seen, but it was so jiggly in the bus that the Elder that I was sitting next to threw up half way through. So I got to sit there and smell barf for an hour. But then I got here!! It's so nice. The weather is great too, not too hot and not too cold. I also saw the ocean!!!! Whoo!! Then Elder Mejia told me that the dad of one of his old companions was coming down to Tijuana. It's the dad of Elder Cerdhe. He's from my same generation. Both his mom and his dad went to this mission too! Anyways, they came and took us to go eat. So we ate at this great Brazilian buffet and stuffed ourselves full of meat!!!! (It would be a good idea to find them on Facebook or something and thank them.)
Anyways, that's what's new in my life. I don't know anything about being a Zone Leader, but I'm going  to give it my all and do the best I can.
I know that this church is true.
I love you all so much!!!!! Have a great day and stay on that straight and narrow!
