Week 32 - 2 Tall Whites Kids Serving The Lord

Hey there family!

Love you all a ton.

This week was really good. We found some new people and worked really hard.

The highlight of the week was the baptism of Camilo. He’s super cool. His wife is already a member, and has been for years. It was probably the best thing ever to see her at the baptism. I know that she’s been waiting for this moment a long time! The thing that finally helped him to make this covenant was him knowing that he could baptize his daughter when he got the Priesthood. He’s a great great great guy and a fantastic husband and dad! He was so ready for his baptism! I can’t wait to go to their sealing in a year if I’m invited! Families can be forever!!

This week I’ve also been thinking about how blessed we are to live where we do. The situation is rough here. We’ve been teaching a family that hasn’t had water in their house for over 2 weeks because they can’t afford the water bill. It’s really tough seeing these situations knowing that at home we have all the luxuries in the world. It’s also hard to promise them that if they keep the Sabbath Day holy and go to church instead of work, God will bless them. I know that He will, but what do you say when someone tells you, “We have no more money for this week, and we have to eat.” It’s hard, but I know that as representatives of Christ, we can promise the blessings that He has promised us. I know that NOTHING can stop God from blessing us.

This week we found a really cool family. We went over there on Saturday to meet with them, taught them a quick lesson, and then invited them to church yesterday. They said yes! We passed by in the morning and got a ride for them. They really enjoyed church and are reading the Book of Mormon. The mom yesterday told us, it’s so cool that there are 12 apostles in the earth! I never knew that! That makes so much sense! They’re super cool and have a baptismal date for this next month.

We’ve really focused this week on baptizing every single week because that is what The Lord has asked us to do. Before the mission, I thought that the baptisms weren’t that important, but now I realize that helping these people enter into this sacred covenant is the only way that we can help them have the Spirit, and repent of their sins, and be clean of all sins, and return to live with God. If we’re not baptizing, we’re not accomplishing our purpose as missionaries. I testify that God loves us and has provided us with The Gospel to help us return to live with Him. Baptism is essential to this Gospel. I know that Christ paid the price for our sins, and that we must take advantage of that Great Atonement by having faith, repenting, and making and keeping covenants. I know that The Book of Mormon is the Word of God.

Thank you all so much for the support. The time is flying by. I felt like I just left, but I’m almost a third of the way through. Please pray so that time slows down!!!

Love,
Elder Morgan

Elder Segundo and Elder Morgan

Hey there folks and family!!!!!!

Love you all so much that I almost can’t wait to see you all again, but I can wait and I will because this work is so awesome!

This week was pretty good. It’s always a little different being in a new area with a new companion so we’re still trying to figure out our teaching styles, but The Lord is going to help us achieve miracles for Him here.

Elder Smalley is super nice and super obedient, which makes me happy. I hate disobedience with a fiery passion.

This week we spent most of the time meeting our investigators and the members. There’s a lot of work to be done here.

Mederos Family

This week we have a baptism of the husband of an active member. It’s so cool because he’s already talking about baptizing his daughter who’s 6. Families can be together forever!

The ward here is really cool.

Us with Hermano Juan Reyes. He was stinking crazy! But awesome.
This week we had a zone conference with the Mission President. They’re leaving in like a week, and I’m super sad. They’re so awesome and have taught me so much. I hope to be able to see them again one day.

We also had a cool ward activity where the sister missionaries in our ward taught the restoration using a bunch of plastic cups and building churches out of them. They focused a lot on how the apostasy scattered all the fundamentals of the Gospel and that a restoration was needed to put them all back together again. We also busted a sweet piƱata that the missionaries had made! haha

It’s been a good week and I’m getting settled into this new area.

Alex Tamayo (Returned Missionary) and Elder Morgan

This week I have thought a lot about member missionary work. I have a challenge for all that are going to read this. This week I challenge every person to find at least one person with whom to share the gospel. It can be a neighbor, a family member, the cashier, whoever. But you have to talk to them and then give the reference to the missionaries. Then you have to write me about your experience for next week. I know that we can all find at least one person. Our goal for this week is 15 people here.

Cruz Family (Ward Mission Leader) and Elder Morgan

I know that this church is true and that God has provided a perfect plan for our happiness, and if we only will try our best every single day, we will make it to where we want to be as an eternal family.

I love you all.
