Week 66 - More from Mexicali

Family!!!!!!!!

Evidently this is what happens when you're approaching 18 months on the mission!

Love you guys more than I love enchiladas (That's a lot a love)

This week has been great.

Last week on Monday I spent 8 hours in the bus station coordinating buses and everything. Right now in the house we're living 4.  Elder Lindley, Elder Ruiz, and a new kid Elder Cronin from Mississippi. His accent makes me laugh on a daily basis.

Not a whole lot of bus travelers

It's basically been an adventure this week. Elder Lindley and I are just having a great time. We've been going pretty "Ham sandwiches" this week. Did 72 contacts this week. We can get better though. Really finding some great people and sharing the Gospel! On a daily basis we just break out dancing in our apartment or other crazy things.

Elder's Lindley and Morgan - Something tells me these two are going to get along really well!

This week we also got to watch Meet the Mormons. Wow!!!! What a great movie! It seriously made me cry at parts and I felt the Spirit sooooo strong. If you haven't seen it! See it!!!

Alexis's mom was going to get baptized last week, but her cousin and other family members got sick and are like dying in the hospital so she's been there and couldn't. Hopefully this week! Things are going really well.

I love being a missionary and just working my hardest. We get so tired, but it's so worth it. Love you all!!!

Week 65 - 21 years old. I seriously feel old.

Family!!!
I love you!!!!!!!

This week was great.
Best part of the week......
We got to have a baptism!!!

Elder Solano on his way out! Two years with honor!

Alexis and Elissa got baptized. These two are so awesome. Alexis is 15 and Elissa is his niece and is 13.
Alexis during his baptism leaned over to me and  asked me if he could go on a mission too. I said yes, and he said, "Good, I want to help people like you guys helped me." So great. Then they got confirmed on Sunday and on his own, he went and talked to the 1st councilor to sign up for Seminary at 5 in the morning. This guy is sooooo great!!!! Everyday he goes to school from 6am-1pm. At 1pm he meets with us, then goes to work from 3-12 midnight. When he gets home, he does homework and studies the book of Mormon until like 1 or 2 in the morning. And now he's willing to get up everyday to go to Seminary!!!!!!!! Wow. He is an example to me. I love these two youngsters!
Also, like 2 days ago they told us that we needed to find 2 houses for two missionaries. More house hunting!!! Haha.I might be a real estate agent after the mission.
We also had transfers!! Elder Lindley from Colorado is my new companion and we're going to work like crazy here!!!!
Love you all!!!

Week 64 - Wow!!

Family!!!!

Love you all soooooooooo much!

Shout out to brothers Christian and John!!! Way to return with honor you two. I know that The Lord is proud. Don't ever forget that.

This week has been great.

This week we went to Tijuana for our leadership council. The council was rough, basically the president spent a lot of time telling us how we're doing horribly. Our numbers are at an all time low, but the great part was that afters a few tears, we were able to put on our thinking caps and receive revelation to help out the mission.

It  was a great council. Probably the best ever. We decided we need to contact more. Now our goal is contact 12 people in the streets ever single day. It's harder than I thought! But it keeps us really busy and is helping so much to find people prepared! I can't believe it's taking me so long to figure it out! The more people you talk with, the more success you have as a missionary! Seems so simple. but somehow the small gerbil running around on the hamster wheel inside my brain hasn't thought it all through.

I know that the Lord prepares people and that this is the true church!! No doubts!!!

I love you all and hope you have a great week!!

Love,
Elder Morgan

Week 63 - Woot woot

Family!!!
Love you guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuys!!!!
This week has been tough, but good.

We found some great new people. My biggest goal this week has been talking to everyone!

I know that as we open our mouths and proclaim this gospel, people will flock to the baptismal font and become closer to their Savior.

We've also seen a lot of rejection this week. We had so many appointments fall through and people decided not to listen to us.

The greatest lesson this week was when I had an experience related to Lehi's dream. We went with this one man that we had contacted the day before. It was Super Bowl Sunday so we get there and there's this huge party with beer and the works. Well, my first thought was, "Nope, don't want to go over there." But then I decided to do it. So, we went over and immediately, people started laughing at us and taking pictures of us. As we talked to the man, he introduced us to his daughter and she said, Ï don't know anything about the Mormons and I don't want to. I'm Catholic. Basically that's all that happened, but it reminded me of Lehi's dream when the people that had eaten the fruit were being mocked by the people in the big and spacious building. It made me realize how glad I am to be on this side of that filthy river. I know that I am here for a reason.

I love you all. The work continues forward.

Hope all is going well for you!
